Apprenticeships in Shopfitting
The apprenticeship programmes are well established by many NAS members and they have proven to be a great method for retaining skills and providing a platform for growth for the employees, who often progress within the company to senior roles.
The NAS is commited to supporting new entrants to the sector. We work with our members to connect them with the local CITB adviser and regularly publish updates on apprenticeship opportunities in fitout.
One of the great examples within our membership is McCue, currently employeen 19 apprentices, ranging from first to fourth years. This makes up 21% of McCue total workforce. Apprentices are integral to the business, helping to maintain the volume of joiners required as workflow increases due to customer demand. Many of McCue’s senior team began their career with the company as apprentices, including Managing Director, Gary Purdy. You can read more about McCue apprenticeships in their recent update.
McCue has recently opened their applications for 2022 intake of Carpentry and Joinery Apprentices.
