Norman Barbour becomes NAS President
Norman Barbour of Barbour Fit Out has become the 45th President of the National Association of Shopfitters (NAS). Norman has taken the role of President earlier than expected due to Alan Stewart, the NAS’ 44th President, leaving his role at Marcon*.
Although his tenure as President was short, Alan has been a supporter of the NAS for 20 years and has been a member of the Executive Board since 2016. A strong advocate for the NAS, he was elected as Vice President 2019, before becoming President in 2021. The Executive Board places on record its thanks to Alan for his time with the NAS and wishes him well for the future.
Speaking after becoming President, Norman Barbour said:
I would firstly like to thank Alan for his time as President and wish him well as he starts his new role. The National Association of Shopfitters and Interior Contractors has been a great supporter of my Company for many years and it is a great privilege to become it’s 45th President. My time as Vice President has been shorter than I expected but I hope that during my tenure as President I am able to continue the great work that goes on within the NAS to promote, support and develop our members.
NAS Director, James Filus, said:
It's regretful that Alan has not been able to serve his full term as NAS President, but we must now look to the future. I am looking forward to working with Norman, who I know will be an excellent President for the Association.
*It is a requirement of the NAS’ Rules that serving Executive Board members are employees or owners of NAS member companies.
