The Shopfitting and Interior Contracting Competence Scheme (SICCS)
SICCS is a national skills registration scheme for the shopfitting, fit-out and interior contracting sector, managed by the National Association of Shopfitters and Interior Contractors (NAS).
Established in 2009, SICCS is a partner card of the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), displaying the CSCS logo as a mark of quality. Since 2017, the Scheme has offered digital cards only – establishing this practice ahead of many other similar schemes.
Following discussions with the CSCS, all shopfitting occupations have now been transferred to the SICCS scheme. CSCS’ announcement of the transfer can be found on their website. This means that any new applications or renewals for cards covering Shopfitting Site or Benchwork should be made via SICCS.
SICCS is a partner card scheme and therefore the eligibility for SICCS cards remains similar to the requirements of CSCS. All applicants must hold a relevant qualification and demonstrate appropriate level of health, safety and environment knowledge.
